Recruiting Tools          Sample Player Profile - Things to include.       Feedback Welcome!

  1. Player Name and Uniform Number - home and away if they differ
  2. Parents name, address, phone number- in the case of split households put the phone of both parents if the are involved in the process.
  3. Physical information- height, weight, age/DOB, handedness for throwing and hitting.
  4. Arm strength in MPH and running speed- 40 yard time, 60 yard time, home to first.
  5. School and academic information- name of school, year to graduate, class rank, GPA, SAT, PSAT, ACT scores, name of guidance counselor, school address and phone number.
  6. School activities - list the other sports and activities you do in school.
  7. Athletic Contacts- high school coach and  phone number,  high school athletic director, summer coach and phone number, and private instructor if applicable.
  8. Statistics- while statistics do not always tell the story, put the ones that make you look good.  For example it is not uncommon for a high school pitcher to have a losing record but a very low ERA and solid strikeout to walk ration.  Use the those stats not the won-loss. Scouts and coaches don't care much about W's & L's, they care about ability and potential.
  9. Playing experience- show the coaches what leagues you have and do play in, camps attended and any awards you have won. Coaches like players who play a lot and against solid competition.
