Dear Coach Smith:

I will be a Junior at Central High this fall and I wanted to express my interest in your program. I  played varsity baseball last year and will be playing for a Fall all-star team this September. I play basketball in the winter and will be back on the varsity this spring. I have maintained a B average and scored a 1030 on my PSAT’s. My coach, Tom Jones, believes that I have the potential to contribute at the college level. He will be sending you a schedule of our games as soon as it is finalized.

I believe that I would be a real asset to the athletic program at State University and would be interested in learning more about the school’s academic and athletics program as well as the opportunity for athletic scholarships.

Enclosed you will find a player which highlights my athletic and academic career to date. I would appreciate it if you could have the appropriate parties forward me a school catalog, and academic program information along with info about the baseball program. Thank you.
