Chapter 6 (Athletic Recruiting) could have been its own book and the rest of the
information was icing on the cake. Fantastic! Claire T, - Parent - West
Virginia
I have just ordered a second copy of your book. I have other parents
fighting over the first copy! I would sincerely appreciate if you could get it
sent as soon as possible. Alex C, - Parent - Pennsylvania
The
information on visiting, selecting, and applying to colleges was more in depth
and informative than 2 other books I purchased solely on admissions and the
authors tie in the athletic recruiting process and the college selection and
application process extremely well.

Excerpt Chapter 1 -
(Researching & Visiting Schools) -
Applying to college can be one of the most difficult processes your child will
go through in high school. In today’s ultra-competitive college environment
where students are pressured to think they need to get into the best schools
possible, and/or apply early, many would argue that the college application
process is far too daunting a process for the average high school student to
handle alone.

Excerpt Chapter 2 -
(College Applications) - You should apply to a number of colleges regardless of
what you think you want to do or where you think you will be accepted. There are
no sure acceptances in today’s competitive environment. Many talented students
are passed over by schools because a school wants someone else, perhaps someone
more diverse, or involved in more activities.

Excerpt Chapter 3 -
(Financial Aid) - We know many of you will be
choosing schools based on what schools your parents can afford to pay for or
what schools offer you the most athletic scholarship money but keep in mind
there is billions of dollars in non-athletic scholarship money available each
year to anyone that applies and meets the criteria of the scholarship.

Chapter 4 - (Other College Options) - For
those of you who may want or need an additional year of HS after you graduate
HS, a post-graduate year may be an option for you. Here are some things to
evaluate.

Excerpt Chapter 5 -
(Rules & Regulations) - We debated about how
detailed we would go with trying to decipher and explain recruiting rules for
this chapter. We didn’t want to rewrite the NCAA rulebook, as much of the
information can be found online.

Excerpt Chapter 6 -
(College Recruiting Info) - Many S-A’s rely on their
HS coach to provide recommendations and guidance in the recruiting process. Who
wouldn’t?

Excerpt Chapter 7 -
(Life as a College Athlete) - Your alarm clock goes
off, it's 6:15AM and you have 5 minutes to open your eyes, get dressed and go
out the door for practice, walking across campus in 8 inches of snow.

Excerpt Chapter 8 -
(Strength & Conditioning)
- With off-season commitments to travel
teams, showcases and tournaments, plus schoolwork, SAT prep, family obligations
and the possibility that you play two or three sports, where do you find time to
workout consistently?
MORE
Excerpt Chapter 9 -
(Athletic Camps) - No two camps are the same and
it’s important that you select a program that is right for you.
