Question: I am a first year coach in machine pitch co-ed baseball and after 1 practice I already have parents mad at me for not doing a good job coaching. I admit the first practice was a little ragged but to call the rec director and complain really puts a sour taste in my mouth real quick. I live in a small town (4 teams in the league). It is really tough to look a friend in the eye and know he has tried to nail me behind my back. What do I do to handle this?

Answer: Appear organized, keep a clipboard, smile a lot and use the Frozen Ropes favorite coaches cue; "Hands up means players in" instead of trying to shout to bring the team close for you to talk, explain that every time they see your hand raised they need to run (use the term "Happy feet" players!!) instead of run or hustle.
