Question: What is
the best way to teach a girl's fastpitch team to load the hips for every
pitch?
Answer: One of the challenges we often see with softball hitters is
that there is no movement or rhythm in their stance. The hitters will stand
too rigid instead of "dancing in their stance" A hitter with rhythm will
find it easier to load not only their hips but their hands as well. Also if
a hitter's stance is too wide they will have difficulty loading the hips to
hit. Hitters need to have rhythm to free the hips to turn fast when
swinging.
