Title: How to speak to a coach about PT

Author: Ray Lauenstein

Unhappy with your playing time so far this season?

Maybe there is something you can do about it. Ask your coach for a private meeting. Say something like, "Coach I really want to contribute more to the success of the team than I am currently doing. What can I do that would help me do this as quickly as possible." Perhaps you could change positions. Maybe you need to work harder in practice. It could be that in the coaches eyes you do not have a good attitude, even though you think you do. The point is to get the coach to state something concrete so that you can go work on it and hopefully earn more time. If you don’t, at least you can return to the coach and have a leg to stand on.
